Advocacy With Dignity
Gavriella Roisman is a Texas-licensed attorney committed to protecting the rights of young people and adults through strategic, trauma-informed advocacy. Her practice is grounded in the belief that effective and zealous representation requires not only strong legal analysis, but also a deep understanding of the systems that shape her clients’ lives.
Gavriella brings extensive experience in the juvenile legal system, rural legal systems, post-adjudication advocacy, and survivor-centered representation. She has directly represented youth in state facilities, survivors of human trafficking and intimate partner violence seeking clemency, and young people navigating complex collateral consequences. Her work emphasizes comprehensive record review, mitigation development, and holistic advocacy aimed at creating meaningful opportunities for reintegration and long-term success.
In addition to her direct representation, Gavriella serves in national leadership and training roles. Formerly, as Project Counsel with The Gault Center, she collaborates with defenders and legal systems across the country to strengthen youth defense practices and deliver skills-based advocacy training. She also works with public interest initiatives that expand pathways for legal pipelines and public interest law.
Gavriella has presented nationwide on trauma-informed advocacy, youth defense strategy, human trafficking survivor representation, and dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline. She previously served as a guardian ad litem and educational surrogate for justice-involved youth with complex mental health and educational needs and has supervised law students in clinical settings focused on education rights and youth defense.
She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center and holds a B.A. in Psychology, summa cum laude.
At the core of Gavriella’s practice is a simple principle: every client deserves to be heard, understood, and powerfully represented.
